1. Who we are and what this content is

This website and our associated landing pages, books, videos, webinars, emails and social-media content are operated by Descartes Consulting Limited, company number SC787331, whose registered office is The Old Station Cowdenburn, Lamancha, West Linton, Borders, Scotland, EH46 7BD.

We provide business-to-business management consultancy and operational-improvement services. Our public content is general business and educational information. We do not represent individual claimants, policyholders or pension members through these public services.

2. No regulated or tailored advice

Nothing in our public content, advertisements, resources, webinars or introductory calls is legal, financial, investment, regulated pension, pension-transfer, tax, actuarial or individual-claim advice, or another regulated professional service. Obtain advice from an appropriately qualified and, where required, authorised professional before acting on a matter that needs such advice.

3. No consulting relationship

Visiting the website, downloading a resource, submitting a form, attending a public webinar or fit call, or interacting with us on a platform does not create a consulting or professional relationship. An engagement starts only when the relevant parties enter into a written agreement.

Do not submit claimant files, medical information, pension-member data, identity documents, account details, credentials, legally privileged material or other sensitive or confidential case information through a public form, booking service, comment, direct message or ordinary email.

4. Results, testimonials and guarantees

Case studies, testimonials, targets, estimates and performance figures relate to particular circumstances or are illustrative. They do not guarantee or predict another organisation's results. Outcomes depend on factors including the starting position, backlog characteristics, data quality, management participation, resources, regulatory constraints, scope and implementation.

Any workshop guarantee is limited to the scope, conditions and remedy stated in the signed engagement agreement. Unless that agreement says otherwise, it concerns delivery of agreed workshop outputs and does not promise a particular backlog reduction, saving, staffing reduction, implementation result or timeframe.

5. Free resources and public content

Books, guides, checklists, videos and other free materials are general resources, may become out of date and may not be suitable for every organisation. Using them does not create an engagement. Unless stated otherwise, they may be used for lawful personal or internal organisational purposes but not sold, republished, presented as your work or used to train a commercial artificial-intelligence model without our written permission.

6. Platforms, advertising and links

Our YouTube channel and other platform content may be monetised. Platforms may independently select and place advertisements. Their appearance does not mean that we selected or endorse the advertiser, product or service. We disclose sponsorships, paid promotions, gifted benefits and affiliate relationships where required.

Links to independent third parties do not necessarily constitute endorsement. We do not control their content, availability, security, terms or privacy practices.

7. Accuracy, availability and liability

We take reasonable care when preparing public content but do not guarantee that it is complete, current, error-free or suitable for a particular organisation or jurisdiction. We may update, restrict or withdraw content without notice.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Subject to that restriction, we are not responsible for loss arising solely from reliance on general public content without appropriate advice, inaccurate information supplied by a user, an independent third-party service, failure to implement information appropriately, or events outside our reasonable control.
