Stuart Corrigan

Stuart Corrigan

Stuart Corrigan is managing director of Descartes Consulting Limited. He helps housing, pensions and claims organisations remove the avoidable work behind backlogs, chasing and complaints.

Background

Stuart has spent more than 25 years inside service operations as a practitioner, a manager and a consultant, including at Wheatley Group and Glasgow City Council in Scottish social housing, and in backlog and casework systems in pensions administration and shared services. He co-founded Vanguard Scotland in 1999.

His method is Theory of Constraints and the ONE Thing Focusing Cycle, applied to service work as Low Effort: study the whole, find the one weakest link, change the vital few.

Books

Claims ER. A practical guide for claims leaders.

Selected work

One of the world's largest insurers. Claims took 500 days to settle from end to end. After the claims operation was redesigned they took 35, on the same headcount. The Claims ER case study in the claims reading pack sets it out.
